Vulcan Marine Remanufactured Engine Limited Warranty Policy

All Vulcan marine engines are warranted to be free from manufacturing and component defects for a period of 1(one) year from the date of installation when used in pleasure craft, non-commercial applications. Parts and labour shall be covered on a warrantable defect for the first year. All Vulcan marine engines must be installed by a qualified marine technician.
This warranty shall cover repairs and or replacement of a defective part(s) at dealer cost, plus labour cost in accordance with our labour policy as specified in Section A, listed below. Please note that repair of replacement of a defective part does not extend the original warranty period. We reserve the right to refund the original purchase price for any returned unit, such payment to be made in lieu of replacement of such unit.

This warranty policy does not cover:

  1. Damage caused by water ingress. This will invalidate any warranty. Keypart recommends that all exhaust manifolds and risers are replaced prior to installation).
  2. Use of LPG (liquid petroleum gas) at any time. (Vulcan engines are remanufactured for gasoline use only). (Using LPG during combustion creates much higher combustion temperatures and invalidates any warranty).
  3. Parts that have been damaged by abuse, misuse, neglect, freezing, corrosion, lack of proper maintenance or accident.
  4. Unauthorised repairs or any part(s) not returned to Keypart for inspection.
  5. Oil, oil filter, anti-freeze or miscellaneous shop supplies.
  6. Boat rental, towing, storage, and incidental or consequential damages resulting from loss of time or use of the boat.
  7. Any part(s) that have been modified or altered in any way.
  8. Any part used for high performance or racing applications, unless specifically supplied for such applications.
  9. Workmanship performed outside Keypart’S facilities.
  10. Part(s) not supplied or authorised for use by Keypart utilised during a warranty repair or replacement.

Section A

To qualify for labour re-imbursement, the engine or part(s) must have been originally installed by a certified Marine Technician with a Marine Certificate or equivalent. Labour costs will be reimbursed at the prevailing area labour rate, which shall not exceed £ 30.00 per hour to a maximum labour payment of £ 300.00. A lift-out and ‘splashdown’ allowance of up to £ 100.00 may be claimed on engine replacements for boats 21 feet and larger.

No labour reimbursement will be paid on do-it-yourself and/or non-certified technician original or replacement installation or repairs.
